Creativity Launch Pad Classes
A great way for beginner artists to get started!
Launch Pad classes are for ANY and ALL skill levels seeking a fun, relaxed and creative environment in which to learn something new or work on your own. They offer an opportunity to experience different mediums as an introduction, that could provide a gateway to independent making.
All materials are provided.
Mindfulness classes are perfect for clearing your creative roadblocks and finding your artistic voice.
- For Beginners - a great way to test the medium and see what you like.
- For Intermediates - great for constructive critique.
- For Advanced students - work at your own pace.
Classes meet on the first Tuesday of every month, 5:30-7:00 in the AMoA classroom.
$10 for AMoA Members ~ $20 per class for non-members
You must be 21 to attend this class.
Class sizes are limited.
Workshops for Adults

This adult workshop will focus on learning how to draw the human figure including capturing gesture, form, shading and technique. Instruction will include warm-up exercises, short and long pose compositions with a live model. All supplies are included.
$60 for members; $80 for non-members.

Summer Ceramics Series
Hand-Building Ceramics at LSUA
Saturday, June 24, 2023 10:00am - 4:00pm
This session will offer a strong foundation in hand-building techniques and creating sculptural and utilitarian forms.
$100 for members; $125 for non-members.
Works completed during this section will be allowed to dry, then fired.
Throwing Clay at LSUA
Saturday, July 1, 2023 10:00am - 4:00pm
This session will focus on the techniques and skills needed to successfully throw clay on a pottery wheel, and developing your own muscle configuration.
$100 for members; $125 for non-members.

Glazing Your Ceramics at LSUA
Saturday, July 22, 2023 10:00am - 2:00pm
Those who participated in the making classes can elect to glaze their works and re-fire them. In this class, we will not only discuss the types of glazes and their affects but also the steps necessary prior to adding color.
$25 for members; $40 for non-members.
All supplies and firing are included in all ceramics classes. You must be 21 to attend. Please bring a lunch or pick up something during the break. Registration is required for both parts of the workshop.

With inspiration of Francis Pavy from the AMoA Permanent Collection, this workshop will guide participants through the Lino print process, including planning, execution and layering with color, to complete a series of limited edition prints! All supplies are included.
