Louisiana’s Natural Beauty: George Rodrigue Foundation for the Arts (GRFA) 2014 Scholarship Art Competition Exhibition

October 17 – November 22, 2014

GRFA grants monetary scholarships to High School Juniors and Seniors through an annual visual arts competition in order to encourage individual participation in the arts.

Each year’s competition theme is determined by George Rodrigue and is announced in the beginning of every school year. In order to encourage participation by all, there is no GPA requirement and scholarship winners are not required to major in art.

More than 700 students from around Louisiana entered this year’s contest (the most entries to date).  Due to the volume of entries and tie-breakers, GRFA awarded 16 seniors and 5 juniors a total of $50,000 in college scholarships.

The theme this year was “Louisiana’s Natural Beauty” in partnership with Audubon Nature Institute.
