Southeastern Museums Conference Exhibition Competition

Concrete & Adrift: On the Poverty Line was an invitational exhibition featuring regional and national contemporary artists addressing poverty and homelessness. Paired with AMoA’s exhibition showcasing beggars in Rembrandt’s etchings (Sordid & Sacred: The Beggars in Rembrandt’s Etchings Selections from the John Villarino Collection), contemporary American artists shared the first floor gallery during the Spring exhibit period in Concrete & Adrift: On the Poverty Line.

LSUA Cavanaugh Lecture Series Returns to AMoA for Fall 2018



ASHLEY WEAVER, holder of a BA in Liberals Studies from LSUA and Masters in Library Science from LSU, will kick off this year’s Cavanaugh Lecture on September 18 at 5:30 PM in the Alexandria Museum of Art. She will be reading from her fifth novel, An Act of Villainy, and discussing the “delicate art of murder,” getting published, and editing.  The lecture is free and open to the public.
