LSUA Cavanaugh Lecture Series Returns to AMoA for Fall 2018

ASHLEY WEAVER, holder of a BA in Liberals Studies from LSUA and Masters in Library Science from LSU, will kick off this year’s Cavanaugh Lecture on September 18 at 5:30 PM in the Alexandria Museum of Art. She will be reading from her fifth novel, An Act of Villainy, and discussing the “delicate art of murder,” getting published, and editing.  The lecture is free and open to the public.

Her first mystery novel, Murder at the Brightwell, has been described as “a delicious mystery “and was one of six nominees for an Edgar Awards Best First Novel. Her four other novels in hardback and paperback (Death Wears a Mask A Most Novel Revenge, The Essence of Malice, and An Act of Villainy) have merited praise from critics who have described her novels as “delightful” and “pleasant” reminders of “Golden Age mysteries” that are full of “1930s charm” and that leaves readers hoping to see “a lot more of the sophisticated . . . [and] elegant Amory Ames” and pleasantly surprised by endings that are “stunners.”  Weaver also has a novella, Intrigue in Capri” that is available on Amazon.
