The Alexandria Museum of Art offers a variety of after hours programming, including Lectures, Reading and Discussion Series, Spoken Word Poetry, Community Art Projects, Renegade Museum Tours, and Live Music. Live Music in the Galleries
Our quarterly music series will features a wide range of genres, including Blues, Jazz, Folk, Classical, Rock, and even some holiday music thrown in at the end!

Community Art Projects
Our quarterly Community Art Projects are free for the public, and feature a themed art project for everyone. Painting, luminaries, bead art, and more. There is no charge for participation.
Renegade Museum Tours
The Renegade Museum Tours are our latest creation for AMoA AfterHours. Think of it as a museum tour for people who don't really like museums...or at least think they don't! If you know someone like that, tell them that you've found the perfect chance for them to see if they truly do not like museums. This series of tours will feature local guest tour guides who know how to entertain. Guests will experience the Museum like they never thought the could. Give it a chance...it's free!

Rhythm & Rhymes Spoken Word
Musical and spoken word performances, including open mic and featured performers, are presented AMoa, promoting the art of spoken word and self-expression, and creating opportunities for poets. Hosted by Alexandria native and accomplished slam poet Sha’Condria Sibley. Admission: Free for AMoA Members; $5 for non-members.
LSUA Cavanaugh Lecture Series
Presented by Alexandria Museum of Art, the LSUA Cavanaugh Lecture Series offers educational talks, readings, poetry and lectures by local and regional speakers. Admission is free to the public.
On occasion, we offer movies related to current AMoA exhibitions are screened in the Museum's media room, and are free to the public.
