Community and Development Officer
Stephen H. Farnsley received the Doctor of Arts degree from Ball State University (Muncie, Indiana) in Music History and Musicology. He has been involved in music and arts education and advocacy since 1972. From 1998 until 2007 he was Dean of the School of Music and Arts, as well as Professor of Music and Director of the University Band at Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN. After relocating to Minden, Nevada in December of 2007, he became Executive Director of the Tahoe Tallac Association, an organization which presents the Valhalla Music, Theatre, and Art Festival each summer. From 2011 to June of 2013 he was Executive Director of the Carson Valley Arts Council in Minden, Nevada. All of these previous positions involved securing grant funding and community relations. He has been Development and Community Relations Officer for the Alexandria Museum of Art since September of 2013.
